Children love stickers, so why not encourage their enthusiasm with a Jewish year passport? Give one to each student the first day of school and let them watch their Jewish sticker collection grow.
Students start the year by recording their Jewish “stats”. Pages reward class attendance, Shabbat service attendance, holiday mitzvot and menschlikite behavior. Each page has room to journal special thoughts throughout the year.
Trying to pique interest for service attendance? Our pilot school instituted a Shabbat attendance reward program. After 5, 10, 15 and 20 Shabbat service stickers, students received special prizes. This dramatically increased family Shabbat involvement. |
